hi...I 'm not even sure how I got here !...just stumbled upon this browsing
around - was checking out Jonathan's[Demme] 'filmography'; I have an idea for a film that I want to discuss w/him & trying to figure out how to get in touch with him.
All of a sudden I landed on this page and clicked on "showing up"...found this little vignette rather thought provoking - it certainly rings true, I've shown up for several things in my life & been rewarded. Unfortunately, too many times I've have missed the boat by not getting there. I think I'll ck out Ferris' writing and your 'ebook' as well.. another simple twist(certainly isn't new advice) :
Knock & the door will be opened [to you]

It's a good book. Thanks for stopping by and commenting, have you had a chance to post a review of the book on Amazon? The more positive reviews the better for John.

I recently finished reading Make Your Story a Movie: Adapting Your Book or Idea for Hollywood - it's filled with fantastic how-to advice, and I'd highly recommend it. The concepts presented are not only great for those adapting a book or idea for Hollywood, but for all storytellers.

I think you just have to go stand in a bathroom stall before meetings for a couple minutes in the Olympic gymnast dismount position and you will be fine. [I am totally going to do this.]

I know that whisper. It's more of a YELL, actually, and has been too damned effective and destructive for too long. Thanks for posting -- will be standing like Wonder Woman and Superman from now on.

Isn't it great? At last, something memorable no one can forget and that will always make sense. Explaining passive voice has always been a bear.
